Part 1: Preparation: Back up iTunes library file

Step 3Cut the 'iTunes (Music) Library.xml' and paste it on the Desktop.

Step 4Delete 'iTunes Library(.itl)'.
Step 5Open iTunes. Attention to that, do not add any new information, like music, videos, etc. into iTunes, because it will erase the original files.

Step 6Choose 'File-Library-Import Playlist-iTunes Library.xml' on the desk-'Choose' (Mac) or 'Open' (Windows).

Adding/Syncing local contents to iTunes Library
Step 1: Open iTunes.
Download the latest iTunes online, install it on your PC/Mac and run it.
Step 2: To add media files to iTunes library
From the File menu, choose one of the following choices:
For Win:
Add File to Library
Add Folder to Library
For Mac:
Add to Library
Step 3: Select the files or folder that you want to add

Note:
